Hello! my names Ava. I am a Minnesota based artist and designer who loves creating a variety of different designs. my normal everydaylife consists of school and art. I decided to take graphic design class because I wanted to expand my knowledge about the art and technology. I have learned how to use photoshop and illustrator from taking this class. most of my art is on paper or blank canvasses. I love painting and drawing in my free time. I also love playing with my dog greg!
personal logo
this design kind of explains itself from the title. I was assigned to make myself a personal logo so right away I knew I wanted to do something with my name or my initials somehow. when I created the design I knew I wanted it to be something simple but also an eye catcher.
The hustle
I wanted to create this painting for my aunt for her birthday. I knew she loves nipsey hustle so I was thinking about painting something related to him, I didn't want to actually paint him because I wasn't very good at people at the time, but I decided to give it a shot. I think I was pretty successful.
growing time of life and love
this is a tattoo design I created and its actually one I got tattooed on myself. I came up with the idea of doing something with roses because they are my favorite flower and also because rose is my middle name. the clock idea came from me looking at stuff to go with roses on Pinterest. I didn't want it to be too much so I kept it black and white.
pain from beauty
as I explained in one of my other descriptions, I love roses. the way I look at this design I see it telling a story, the bullet from the gun turns into a flower because even if you did something bad it doesn't really mean your a bad person and you can be better and heal.i love the concept of it.
face of heaven in blue
this is another tattoo design I sketched out and created. I was inspired by something similar on Pinterest. I decided to make it my own by making it the color blue. I think it makes it look more calming and heavenly.
ATV digital painting
for this assignment we had to create a digital painting of something. I went based off a picture I found on google. I wanted it to be something with a 4 wheeler or atv so I could give it to my dad when I was done.
chicken coop flyer
in my graphic design class we were assigned to create a flyer for some chicken coops that are being made by the students in construction trades at dctc. all of the information used on the flyer is main resources I was given and required to put on the flyer for the assignment.
calendar month design
at the time we were introduced to the assignment I was really into tattoos. I had actually just got one. I figured I could just come up with some simple designs of tattoos I would do or get on myself. so that's what I did. this picture is the design I came up with for the month of December. I decided to draw Jesus because Christmas is in December and that's when his birthday was.
core values of isd 917
my assignment was to create a poster for the isd 917 core values. my teacher said that the principal likes light houses a lot and that whole concept. so that's where I got the idea to make the base of the picture a lighthouse. I wanted it go look pretty realistic even with the words. I think the font goes pretty well with the water and background.
pow cow ski club logo
in my graphic design class we had to come up with a logo for a ski club called pow cow ski club that one of the teachers who works at dctc actually in. we had certain requirements we had to follow. I knew I wanted to make a cute cow going off a jump in the mountains. then I added the skis because it is a ski club so it makes sense to put skis in the logo. I like that the colors are simple and I think they work well with each other and complement each other.
soda can logo design
for my graphic design class class we were assigned to create a soda can label for the fizzy brand logo that a student in my class created. my teacher decided that the flavor of the soda was going to be tropical, so I tried to pick a flavor that I think would be tropical. I decided to add palm trees because I think it goes with the theme as well as the colors I chose for the background.
